How do you get a litter box not to stink so bad!!!?

My two cats use the type of litter that “clumps” so it’s easy to remove dirty litter, which I do 3 or 4 times per day. I top up with fresh litter when necessary so that they always have at least three inches of litter to dig into. Every week I wash the litter box and completely change the litter. In the UK you can buy litter deodorisers from vets, pet shops and supermarkets which you can sprinkle on the litter when you’ve just cleaned it. The Bob Martin brand has a particularly pleasant aroma as it’s not the usual pine scent that a lot of these deodorisers have.

Use Mimi brand kitty litter $3.99 a bag, I have three cats and it doesn’t smell. I change it every two weeks(one bag=one change) and scoop whenever it is dirty which in my case is several times a day or whenever I walk past. You should be able to get away with once a day. When you scoop be sure you stir the litter as well….sounds weird but it helps. Also scrub your litter box with pine sol or a deodorizer every time you change the litter.Another good thing for controlling odor is to use a covered litter box with the air filters only cost about $15. You may also want to buy a kitty litter tracker mat $4 that goes in front of the opening to the litter box, keeps the litter from tracking around the house which also causes odors. These changes will do wonders.
