How Do You Get A Lifeguard Job?
Lifeguards are responsible for keeping people safe while swimming and participating in other water activities. Lifeguards can work in a variety of settings, including private swimming pools, public swimming pools and water parks. Lifeguards can also find jobs watching over natural bodies of water such as the beaches of oceans, rivers and lakes. How easy it is to find work as a lifeguard depends on your credentials, experience, and on your location. For example, there are more lifeguard jobs available in areas that have warm weather and beaches than in areas that are primarily cold and don’t have beaches. Make sure you meet the basic requirements to work as a lifeguard. Lifeguards need to be able to think and act quickly, and they must be able to stay calm in high-stress situations. Remember that as a lifeguard, you’re responsible for people’s lives. You should also be a strong swimmer and physically fit enough to swim several hundred yards while carrying another adult.
