How Do You Get A Job With A Phd In History?
Chances are, if you have completed a PhD in history, that job credentials were not your first priority when you chose to pursue this degree. It is not impossible to find a job with a PhD in history, but the degree itself prepares you for few occupations other than that of university professor, and such positions are few and far between. Your best chance of landing a job if you have a PhD in history is to look for postions where you can indirectly apply some of the skills and knowledge that you have picked up as part of your academic background. Take a long-term approach to finding a job and make peace with the possibility that you might have to find a position outside of your field before you find a job that truly suits you. If you do need to find a temporary job, look for a part-time position that leaves you enough time to continue searching for one that better meets your needs.
