How Do You Get 8 Month Old Baby To Sleep By Himself?
Don’t let him cry himself to sleep, that is just sad. My baby girl is 6 months old and has to be nursed to sleep every night. She is my 4th baby, and I know all to well that before we know it she will be 6 years old and off to school all day, she won’t want to be held all the time and she won’t want to be nursed to sleep! It really goes so fast so enjoy that he is tiny, and give him lots of love. Picking him up when he is sad or cries is the right thing to do, and your wife is right to go by her instincts when he is so young. He will get older quick enough, and once he is old enough to understand that you will always come back and that you are just in the next room, he will sleep. My oldest daughter also needed to be nursed to sleep, and then cuddled to sleep once she wasn’t nursing, but at about 2.5 years old we began to wean her off this (probably could have done it a bit earlier but we had twins when she was 2 and didn’t want to change her routine).
