How Do You Germinate Palm Tree Seeds?
Although adult palm trees are extremely expensive, you can grow your own quite inexpensively. Date palm tree seeds are the easiest to obtain, as you just need to purchase whole, fresh or dried dates from your local supermarket. You can enjoy eating the delectable fruit, then save the seeds to plant. Dried dates are often coated with sugar, but the seeds remain viable. Remove the flesh of several dates from around the single stones in the center. Use your teeth, or a knife. Put the date stones in the bottom of a glass jar and cover them with distilled water, which doesn’t contain the impurities that are present in ordinary tap water. Soak the seeds for 24 to 48 hours. Set the jar in a warm location, out of direct sunlight, and change the water several times during the soaking period.
