How Do You Germinate Brugmansia Seeds?
Brugmansia is a group of flowering plants native to South America. Brugmansia can be either large shrubs or small trees with trumpet-shaped flowers in shades of white, yellow, pink, orange and red. Easy to grow, they like moist soil and full sun to partial shade. They do not do well in areas where there is frost. Soak the seeds in a glass of tap water for 30 minutes. Remove the seeds and peel away their cork covering. Mix a solution containing 1 tablespoon hydrogen peroxide and 6 ounces of distilled water. Drop the seeds into the solution and allow to soak for 10 minutes. Plant the seeds in the small plastic cups filled with potting mix, barely pressing them into the soil. Place in a sunny window or under lights. Give them as many hours of light per day as possible. Transplant the seedlings when they have two sets of leaves and give them their first application of weak fertilizer.
