Increase caloric intake. In order to gain one pound, you must consume 3,500 more calories than you burn. To gain a pound a week, increase your intake by 500 calories a day. Eat healthy calories. It’d be easy to pack on some quick curves by visiting fast food restaurants every day. That’s unhealthy. Instead, increase foods high in heart-healthy unsaturated fats such as nuts, olive oil and avocados. Consume larger portions. In addition to eating higher-calorie foods, size up your plate. Try a serving and half of rice (about one cup), instead of just one serving. Eat frequently. Make time (and room) for not only three square meals, but also two to three large snacks.
