How Do You Freeze Unbaked Yeast Bread?
Why settle for commercially frozen bread doughs when you can make your own? By mixing and kneading the ingredients first and freezing it for later use, you can make several loaves at once for use over several months. Use any yeast bread recipe since all types freeze well. Your unbaked yeast bread simply needs thawing, shaping, rising and baking, all of which require little effort on your part. Mix the bread recipe until a soft dough forms, but do not allow to rise. Shape the dough into a rectangular log to fit inside the loaf pan. Coat the inside of the pan with cooking spray. Set the unrisen yeast bread dough into the loaf pan, and place into the coldest part of the back of your freezer for two to three hours, or until frozen solid. Turn the frozen dough out of the loaf pan and transfer to a freezer bag. Squeeze out as much air as possible from the bag before sealing the bag. Return the dough in the bag to the freezer and store for up to three months.
