Toolbars in spreadsheets are very standardized and sometimes do not contain the icons which you would like to use. The easiest way to correct this is to format the toolbar to the icons that you do use. This is much easier than having to go to the menu every time you want to use a particular command. The following will teach you how to format a toolbar in a spreadsheet. Go to “Tools” and then “Customize.” This may be different for spreadsheet software other than Excel; however, every software is similar–you just need to know what command your software uses. Find the command you are looking for. For this example, we will look for “Save as.” The “Save as” command is under the “File” menu.
