How Do You Format A CD Disc?

0

One of the most widely used ways to store digital data is on compact discs (CD). They are popular because of their durability, portability and ability to hold any type of digital media, such as pictures, music, movies and documents. There are several types of CDs made specifically for different functions. For example, audio CDs are used to record music. To format a CD, you must use the right type of CD, called a rewritable disc, or CD-RW. Insert the CD-RW into the disc drive of your Mac. Double-click on the hard drive icon on the desktop to open the hard drive window. Click on the “Applications” icon on the left side of the window, and select the “Utilities” folder. Double-click on the “Disk Utility” icon. Click on the “Erase” tab located at the top of the “Disk Utility” window. Select the CD drive from the list of drives on the left side of the window, and click on the “Erase” button. The time it takes for your disc to format depends on how much information is on the disc.
