I wish I had taken more photos of this while I was building it. But that was before eHow, and before running water was invented…or Cameras. No, it was only 17 years ago, and the fountain is still looking good, and doing a fine job. I do have a couple more photos I can share, but mostly I am going to have to rely on telling you how to go about it. You will need to prepare a foundation, and have the water service piped into it prior to forming your base column. I ran 1/2″ CPVC pipe to the basement of my house deep enough to be below the frost line. It has a CPVC “Stop-waste” shut-off valve, so I can turn the water off in the winter and drain the line. The Foundation for the column should also be below the frost line. That will be deep enough to support the Fountain from falling over. You may use a 6in. round heating duct available at any hardware store for a base column. I formed mine of boards tied around two coffee cans that I cut the bottoms out of. I wanted that rough look.
