You got a job interview. Congratulations! What now? How do you increase your chances of being hired? You must follow up on a job interview to increase your chance of being hired. Knowing how to follow up effectively will give you an edge in the hiring process. It can make you stand out from the crowd in a positive way if it is done correctly. Gather information during the job interview that you can use to follow up on it. Your goal is to leave the interview knowing everyone’s names, the time frame they have for making a hiring decision, and, if possible, the best time and method of reaching them. Many times you will be interviewing with one person. If it is more than one person, make a note of who seems to be in the lead. Make a mental note of names and, if possible, get business cards from everyone. Often, they will let you know when they will be making a hiring decision. If they do not, then politely ask. You could say “I am really looking forward to this position, when will you be m
