How Do You Follow Up After Skin Cancer Treatments?
It is important to know what follow up is needed after receiving treatment for skin cancer, since the likelihood of recurring symptoms is high, especially with basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. Work with your oncologist on creating a follow up plan that may help to reduce your chance of needing more treatment. Perform a monthly head-to-toe check of your body to make sure there are no recurrences of skin cancer symptoms. Ask someone for assistance in checking areas you can’t see. Report any suspicious moles, lesions or other skin irregularities to your oncologist immediately. Ask your doctor about what to expect in case of a recurrence of skin cancer symptoms.
