Following up after an interview is very important. It is professional, and if the company is deciding between you and another prospect, your follow up letter just might put you ahead! As soon as you exit your interview, make extra notes while they’re still fresh in your mind so you don’t forget important details. Send a thank you letter to the person who interviewed you the next day. If several people interviewed you, send them each a thank you note. Keep the letter short, but to also make your interest and confidence in the position clear. If the interviewer mentioned they would have a decision in a week, call them in a week to thank them for the interview and reiterate your interest.
