How Do You Follow Traffic Laws On Military Bases?
If you’ve ever served in the military, you can attest to the fact that success is most likely to come when you shut up and do what you’re told. Even if you’re a civilian visiting a military installation, the same rule tends to apply to you as well. Military bases are some of the safest traffic communities in the United States, due largely in part to the many regulations (and their strict enforcement!). Take my advice and review the tips below to make sure you’re in compliance, to make your visit as successful as it can be. First, make sure to obey the posted speed limit. It WILL be posted visibly, usually as soon as you enter the facility. Also, remember that Military Police officers enforce the limit strictly. There’s no “5 miles over” comfort zone like with civilian police. Second, be sure that you’re wearing a seatbelt before you put the vehicle into motion. You’re responsible for every other passenger in the vehicle as well, so take a moment to double-check them too. All military i
