How Do You Fold Prefold Nappies?
For those who choose cloth nappies to diaper their babies, the further option of “prefold” or “prefolded” nappies is something of a misnomer. They do have multiple thick, absorbent layers already securely stitched into the center of the diaper so you don’t have to start from a large flat piece that must be pleated. Most prefold nappies, however, still have square sides that must be folded in at the middle to accommodate the baby’s legs. There are two main ways to accomplish this, depending on what else the baby will be wearing. Use this simple fold with a flat diaper cover that has its own fastening system. Fold both sides of the nappy inward, overlapping as necessary to fit the diaper cover and the bottom. Insert the folded nappy into the diaper cover, matching the top (back) edges and folding the front of the nappy to the inside to fit the front of the diaper cover.
