I am proud to be an American! I would like to share the proper way to fly our flag. Please share these steps with friends and family so we are all flying Old Glory with respect. When flying the American flag, the union is always on top. The blue and stars are always in the top left hand corner. The American flag is normally flown from sunrise to sunset. If you fly your flag at night, it must be illuminated. It should not be flown at night without a light on it. During rain or inclement weather, the flag should not be flown. When flying the American flag on a flag pole, the American flag is always on the top of the pole. Your state flag or any other flags you are flying must be below the American flag. Never let your flag touch the ground. No exceptions! When storing your flag, be sure to fold it properly. Do not just stuff it in a drawer or closet.
