How Do You Fly Radio Controlled Airplanes?
• Purchase a cheap, lightweight, durable aircraft. You can find them for less than $100. • Assemble your plane if needed. • Find a nice open field with no trees or power lines. • Determine the direction of the wind. • If your plane has wheels, set it on the ground to take off. • Once it is on the ground, point it into the wind and take to the skies by increasing the throttle and pulling the elevators back. • If you don’t want to take off from the ground, have someone point the plane into the wind and gently toss it while you apply pressure to the throttle and climb. After takeoff, you must climb to 50 feet or higher before you do ANYTHING. Once you are that high, do anything you please that is in your skill range. • Watch the battery. When your battery gets low, it’s time to bring it in for a landing. • Check the wind direction and fly the plane into it. • Reduce the power to almost nothing making sure to keep the plane parallel to the ground. Pull back. Once you are about your height
