How Do You Flush A Heater Core?

0

• Drain the coolant by removing the plug on the bottom of the radiator. • Remove the “in” hose on going into the heater core. • Fill the heater core with an acid based solution to break up any junk that may be in there. Let it stand for about 30 minutes. • Remove the “out” hose from the heater core. Attach about a 6 ft. hose and run it out away from the car engine. • Attach a water hose to the “in” side and run water through the core until it comes out the “out” side clear. • Re-attach both “in” and “out” hoses. • Fill Coolant reservoir with fresh new coolant. Start the car and enjoy the heat!
