Repairing the system files of your XP Home system requires the use of the repair utility built into the XP Home CD. Step 1 Place the Windows XP Home CD into your computer and restart the computer. Step 2 Hit any key when prompted by the computer to boot from CD. Step 3 Navigate through the screens after accepting the end user licensing agreement Step 4 Use the arrow keys to select the drive upon which Windows XP Home is installed from the list onscreen and press “R” to repair your system files. Step 5 Reboot your computer when the repair is complete.
