How Do You Fix Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility Problems?

0

For those who don’t want to invest $60 on a new Xbox 360 game, one valuable feature of the Xbox 360 system is the backwards-compatibility function, which allows users to play many of their original Xbox games. However, this ability requires an update for the Xbox 360. If your original Xbox games aren’t functioning, you need to ensure that you have the proper update applied to your system. Download the “Original Xbox Game Support Update” at the link found in the Resources section of this article. Once downloaded, unzip the file. Burn the file “Default.xex” onto a blank CD or DVD. There cannot be any additional files on this CD or DVD. Turn your Xbox 360 on and load the CD or DVD. This will automatically start the update process. Select “Continue” to apply the update. Select “Yes, Update Now” when prompted and press the “A” button. After a few moments and a system reboot, the update process will be complete and you are free to insert your original Xbox game.
