How Do You Fix Windshield Wiper Blades?
Windshield wiper blades on your vehicle are an important safety component. You need to make sure that they are functioning normally at all times. Checking the rubber compound twice a month to make sure that the blades are not chipped or cracking is a good idea. Replacement blades can be purchased at most auto parts stores. You’ll need to know the length of your old blade, so it might be necessary to take the blade with you when buying a new one. Step 1 Lift the wiper arm assembly away from the windshield until it locks in a vertical position. Step 2 Clear away any debris under the wiper arm and in the blade assembly. Step 3 Check the rubber wiper blade. If it is cracked or damaged in any way, you’ll need to replace it. Step 4 With your new blade–or blades–on hand, push down on the release tab on the wiper blade assembly and pull the wiper blade off the wiper arm. Step 5 Install the new wiper blade.
