Glass windows are only as good as the quality of the glass they are made from. For a window to retain its structural integrity, it is important to protect it from cracks and deep scratches. However, sometimes a thin scratch will occur. It is not structurally significant, but detracts from the window pane glass’ appearance. Thin scratches can often be eliminated with the right materials and a little elbow grease. Inspect the scratch and determine whether it runs all the way to an edge of the glass. If so, it may create a chip where the glass meets the window frame. Sand the spot where the glass meets the frame with wet sandpaper. Rub the spot very gently.
