This can happen when the bushings in the motor lock up because of contamination from foreign particles, basically dirt. To tackle this project you should already have the knowledge to get the motor out of the unit, otherwise this project might not go as expected. This is a moderately challenging project, so come on let’s get started. You should already have the motor out of the refrigerator unit by the time you get ready to start this project. Take all the screws out of the motor and pull it apart. Gently remove the wires from the motor housing, and pry these tabs. Be extra careful as these tabs can break. You will have to pry all these tabs to have any success removing the bearing housing cover. Get it all apart and clean motor and bearing housing thoroughly. You can see the pile of mess that the old style bushing are. Set them aside and keep them as a reminder of the awesom
