Sleep mode was designed to limit system functionality and power down the monitor if your system has been inactive for a specified period of time. It is effectively a money saving tool for the consumer. If you are having problems disabling sleep mode and would like it disabled, follow these simple instructions. Step 1 Turn on your computer and wait for Windows XP to load. Step 2 Right click on your desktop and select “Properties” from the drop-down menu. Step 3 Click on the “Screen Saver” tab when the display properties menu appears. Step 4 Click on the “Power” button located near the bottom of the Display Properties window.
