How do you fix the back door latch on a 1998 Toyota 4runner?
I have to guess your talking about the fact it wont open when you manually lift the handle. If this is the case then usually its because the cables that open it have gone bad. To repair it you have to remove the back covers on the door to gain access to the internal parts. You can then remove the cables from the door handle mechanism. Hold onto the cables and pull them in hard at the same time. This can open the door and get you better room for replacing the cables. Now check the cables and see if they are the problem. If not then check the handle control.
