How Do You Fix Speaker Wires In A Finished Basement?
A malfunctioning speaker in a basement that has been finished may require you to repair or replace the speaker wire. Speakers can be mounted on a wall, or they can be installed in the ceiling. You can fix the wires running to them with a few basic tools. Fixing Wiring at the Speaker Step 1 Remove the screws that secure the speaker to the ceiling or the wall to access the wires. Step 2 Detach the wire from the speaker and set the speaker aside. Step 3 Cut the end of the speaker wire with wire cutters. Step 4 Strip about 1/2 inch of insulation off the end of the wire with wire strippers. Step 5 Reattach the wire to the speaker, then secure the speaker back onto the wall or the ceiling with screws.
