With a few supplies and a buffer, you can restore your plastic headlights to near-new and avoid paying the skyrocketing costs for replacement headlights. Even if the other headlight on your car does not require a repair, buff it to match the shine of the repaired lens. This will give the car a uniform look. Step 1 Clean the headlight crack by removing any debris with a penknife and sandpaper. It’s important for the crack to be as clean as possible.
