How do you fix one of three light sockets in a ceiling fan that has suddenly stopped working?
Many recessed light fixtures have a built-in temperature sensor that shuts off the light if the fixture gets too warm. Sometimes those sensors can fail, especially if they’re cycling off and on a lot. If you can get to the sensor without ripping into the ceiling, try replacing the sensor and then put in a smaller bulb or even one of the small flourescent bulbs. That way the socket will never get hot enough to turn off. It’s also possible that the problem is a simple loose wire nut. If that’s the case, just tighten it.
