How Do You Fix Noisy Classroom Chairs?
According to the City of Toronto’s Early Childhood Services Team, a positive classroom environment encourages successful learning for all students. Loud classroom chairs can be disruptive and frustrating for both students and teachers. Students, especially, may become so distracted by noise from chairs scraping across floors that they are unable to function in the classroom. Covering the bottoms of chairs with tennis balls helps reduce noise and also prevents chairs from creating marks on floors. Step 1 Locate and obtain enough tennis balls so there is one for each chair leg within the classroom. Some local recreation centers with tennis courts might be willing to donate tennis balls if you explain why you need them.
