Loose handles on your refrigerator can be frustrating. They make opening the refrigerator more difficult and may cause your hands to slip when opening the door–leading to possible injury. The pressure of opening the door with a handle that is not properly secured can also cause the handle to break. The most difficult thing about fixing the handle on your GE refrigerator is finding the screws. Place the blade of the flathead screwdriver under the ridge of the top of the trim on the door handle. Push this up while pulling on the bottom. This should remove the trim and expose the screws. Determine the type of screws used on your GE refrigerator model; it will vary. Select the correct type and size of screwdriver. Tighten the screws. Replace the trim by snapping it back over the handle. Remove the trim as detailed in Section 1. Unscrew the old broken handle and discard. Screw the new handle in, making sure it is held securely in place. Test it by pulling on the handle a few times. Replace
