If it becomes loose enough to the point of actually falling, someone could get hit by the fixture or there is a risk that the wires could pull apart and shock or even electrocute someone. When the Fixture Box is Loose Step 1 Turn off the power for the fixture that’s hanging at the circuit breaker. Step 2 Remove the fixture’s cover and bulbs. Use a touch-type voltage tester to check the socket for power. Step 3 Loosen the fixture from the mounting bar bolts and pull the fixture off. Step 4 Disconnect the fixture wires from the ceiling box wires and set the fixture down. Step 5 Insert the Madison bars along the outside sides of the ceiling box with the two long tabs sticking down. The bar’s ends will rest above the ceiling. Step 6 Pus
