Step 1 First, close all other programs on the Mac displaying the wrong date and time. This especially includes the Date and Time preferences window. Step 2 Next, from the “Go” drop down menu in finder, click “Go To Folder”. This should bring up a small text entry box which you will use next. Step 3 In the text box, type “/private/etc/”. This will bring up a window showing a number of files and folders. Step 4 Locate the folder titled “localtime” and move it to the trash. Then delete the trash.
