How Do You Fix GMC Suburan Tail Lights?
GMC Suburban tail light designs are different depending on the model year, but all are removed in a similar fashion. The standardized pattern for tail light removal is the same as other Chevrolet full-sized trucks and Blazers, and hardware from similar model years is interchangeable. The at-home mechanic can repair a Suburban tail light in about 30 minutes. Step 1 Disconnect the battery at the positive terminal by turning the nut counterclockwise. Lay the terminal cable away from the battery. Step 2 Remove the screws around the lens frame of the light, if applicable. On later models, the tailgate must be lowered to access the bolts on the side of the lens frame. Step 3 Disconnect the bulbs from the wiring harness by turning the bulb holders in a counterclockwise direction. They can then be pulled out gently and set aside as a group, but should be marked for future reassembly. Step 4 Pull the tail light out firmly, towards the back of the truck.
