How Do You Fix Fluorescent Light Humming?
It’s a well-known fact that fluorescent lighting is cost effective and cheaper to operate than incandescent bulbs. Unfortunately, fluorescent lighting is prone to hum or buzz when it is about to go bad. If you know how to fix fluorescent light humming, you can save yourself some annoyance and get some extra time from your fluorescent light bulbs. Step 1 Turn off the power at the light switch before removing the fluorescent bulb from its fixture. For safety’s sake, it’s best to also shut down power at the circuit box for the fixture as well. The power should be off before you attempt each step below. You may need to turn the circuit breaker on and off several times before you resolve the problem. Step 2 Remove the humming fluorescent light from its fixture. Check to make sure the contacts are clean. If necessary, gently sand the prongs. Wipe away any residue.
