Sometimes, Firefox just stops working, without even a crash. Reinstalling does not fix it. The repair is to remove Firefox completely. For some reason, the regular uninstall procedure doesn’t completely remove all the files (they might assume you’ll re-install). Once removed, you can reinstall and it will work correctly.
