Minor cracks or chips in laminate flooring can easily be repaired using a wood-colored repair putty made for laminate that can be found at your local hardware store. Step 1 Fold a sheet of 60-grit sandpaper in half and sand the edges of the crack smooth. Sand away any damaged and loose laminate that may be in the bottom of the crack. Step 2 Blow the dust out of the crack and wipe the area with a damp rag. Dry the area with a clean rag. If there is dust left in the crack, the repair putty bond may be weak. Step 3 Squeeze some repair putty that matches your floor onto a scrap piece of cardboard. Apply the putty to the crack using a plastic putty knife.
