Hot tubs are constructed using fiberglass. Fiberglass is a very strong lightweight material with many good characteristics, but over time fiberglass can crack or fracture. This causes leaks, and possibly damage, to the deck or wood platform where it rests. Instead of closing the jacuzzi for good or replacing the entire fiberglass shell, which will be expensive, you can seal the cracks and repaint the repairs. This can be done fairly cheaply with little experience necessary. All the materials needed can be found at your local marine supply store. Step 1 Put on a respirator and grind directly on the crack using a dye grinder until all the fractured fiberglass is removed. This will cause a grove to form in the fiberglass. Gradually taper the edges of the grove so the filler has a bigger surface area to bond to.
