How Do You Fix Corrupt Display Drivers?

0

Display drivers–or video drivers, as they are also called–are pieces of software that allow Windows to utilize all the functions of that shiny new video card you have. As long as they are working, you can enjoy such benefits as better resolution and color depth, faster graphics and other such visual enhancements. Should, however, the display drivers go bad or get corrupted, Windows will no longer be able to use these features. Fortunately, it’s not overly difficult to fix the drivers if they go bad. Turn on your computer, and press the F8 key before Windows loads. This will bring up the boot options menu on your screen. Select the “start Windows in Safe Mode” option, and allow Windows to boot up. Click on the Start menu and access the Control Panel. Don’t worry that Windows looks different; safe mode is a diagnostic boot of Windows that runs on minimal drivers for ease of troubleshooting. Open the “System” icon. Click the “Hardware” tab, and then click the “Device Manager” button. Fi
