How Do You Fix Charleston, SC Shrimp Dishes As Done In The 1800S?
In the 1800’s Recipes, as we now call them, were called “Receipts”. Here are 6 fantastic receipts for creating Charleston South Carolina Shrimps dishes from the 1800’s. Sooooo YUM! Shrimp Casserole What you’ll need: 1/2 lb sliced fresh mushrooms 2 tbs butter 1 fresh onion minced 2 tomatoes, cut up 1/2 cup thin cream 2 Tbs flour 1/4 cup sherry 1 Tbs Worcestershire 3 lbs fresh shrimp if possible 1/2 cup buttered bread crumbs Salt, pepper and paprika Sauté mushrooms in butter. Add onion and tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes. Blend cream and flour and add along with sherry, Worcestchire ,salt, pepper and paprika, to taste. Add shrimp, cooked and peeled and put in a large buttered casserole. Top with crumbs Bake in oven (No Micro waving this dish) at 350 until brown approximately 8 minutes.
