The popularity of the Xbox 360 has caused many users to modify the hard drive so it can do things not sanctioned by Microsoft. This modification can cause the hard drive to function erratically. Repairing the hard drive requires returning it to its original state and will save an expensive repair from a service center. The procedure requires the use of a Windows-based computer and will get you back to using the game console and hard drive without any concerns within an hour or two. Plug a USB thumb drive into the Windows- based computer’s USB port. Go to the iprep 101 Web site and download the software to the desktop of the computer (see iprep 101 link in Resources).
