A furnace can be the best amenity in your RV on a cold evening. Without the furnace, not only would you struggle to stay warm in places like the mountains or in Wisconsin in the fall, but it can be dangerous for your appliances if temperatures reach below freezing. Although it is unfortunate when your furnace malfunctions, you can fix it without seeking professional help. Step 1 Check the thermocouple to see if the pilot light is lit. The light should be a blue flame with a tint of yellow. Step 2 Check the battery to make sure it is charged. The problem may be as simple as a dead battery that needs to be charged or replaced.
