How Do You Fix An Over-Spiced Stew?
With one wrong move, a stew can quickly go from savory and delicious to over-seasoned by too much pepper, salt or other spices. There are many methods available to remedy an over-spiced stew ranging from adding raw potatoes to the pot to increasing the water content. The quick fixes you’ll find below just might salvage an otherwise ruined meal. Step 1 Slice raw potatoes into medium-thick rounds. Step 2 Put potatoes in a cheesecloth bag and tie it closed with food-safe cooking string. Step 3 Add potatoes to the stew. Step 4 Simmer potatoes in the pot until they become translucent. You may have to increase the heat on your stove top. Step 5 Remove the bag of potatoes and discard it before serving the stew.
