ActiveX controls the computer’s interactive features on the Internet. Each time a website is accessed on a computer, the ActiveX controls must be confirmed. If they cannot be confirmed, error messages will appear. Also, when ActiveX controls become corrupt, it can halt the computer’s Web surfing abilities. As serious as it sounds, it is fairly easy to troubleshoot ActiveX problems. Using ‘Internet Options’ Panel Step 1 Find “Internet Options” within the computer’s control panel and click on the “Security” tab. Step 2 Click on the “Custom Level” button and find the “ActiveX” section. Mark “Prompt” for all of the settings except for the two that indicate exceptions. Step 3 Save settings when prompted to do so, and reboot the computer. Using the Run Function Step 1 Go to the “Start” menu and go to the “Run” function.
