How Do You Fix A Windows Low Virtual Memory Problem?
Virtual memory is a portion of your hard drive that Windows appoints for swap memory. Windows uses this memory in the same way it uses your RAM. Virtual memory can fill up quickly when running programs that use several system resources. Older computers that do not have much memory to spare in the first place may run into this problem often. Increasing the virtual memory that Windows uses can fix these types of errors. Step 1 Click the “Start” menu icon on the lower left of the screen. Right-click “My Computer” and select “Properties.” Step 2 Click the “Advanced” tab. Press the “Settings” button under “Performance.” Step 3 Click the “Advanced” tab in the “Performance Options” dialog box. Step 4 Click the “Change” button under the “Virtual Memory” heading. This will bring up the Virtual Memory window, which allows you to see how much virtual memory, in megabytes, is on your system. Step 5 Increase your virtual memory by changing the number in the “Initial Size” and “Maximum Size” fields.
