How Do You Fix A Water Pump On A 1994 Cadillac?
The water pump keeps the water pumping through the engine and radiator so that it cools properly. If the water pump cannot pump the water, due to bad impellers, bad bearings or because it is leaking, your 1994 Cadillac will overheat. Some models have aluminum heads which, when overheated, expand at a different rate than the cast iron block, thus having more of a chance of blowing the head gasket when the vehicle overheats. Place a drain pan under the radiator petcock. Loosen the petcock, allowing the antifreeze mixture to drain. If the drain pan is clean, you can reuse the antifreeze. Disconnect the negative battery cable and lay it aside, ensuring that it does not touch metal. Loosen the clamps on the air cleaner intake duct. Remove the duct. Unbolt the air cleaner assembly with the appropriate socket. Remove the assembly. Remove the water pump adjuster pulley retaining bolt, the adjuster pulley and water pump belt. Remove the water pump bolts and pull the water pump off the block. Yo
