A warp in a door does not develop overnight – it happens gradually, so the sooner you notice, the easier it is to correct. The first real sign may be the door not closing properly, or the lock failing to work. Doors made from badly seasoned timber are particularly prone to warping, though once you have corrected the warp it is unlikely to return. However, in some instances the warping is caused by outside factors – such as a radiator sited too close to the door, or bad ventilation. If you suspect that this is the case, take steps to deal with the external problems or the warp may recur. If the warp is not too severe, there are several ways of forcing the door against the twist. Some of these, however, require the door to be kept shut and in many cases this is not convenient. If you can keep the door shut, wedging it shut against the warp for a few days may well prove to be effective. • To do this, look along the door to check the extent of the warp. Wood doors are a classic and beautiful addition to any home. Unfortunately, when a wood door is not sealed properly it could end up with a warp. Warps are caused by too much moisture either escaping or being trapped inside of the door. Here are some steps that will help you de-warp any wood door. Step 1 Place the two sawhorses 4 feet apart in a covered area. Step 2 Remove the door with the warp from its hinges using a screwdriver or the electric screw gun. Lay the door across the sawhorse with the warped side facing up. Step 3 Using the sandpaper, sand the top and the bottom of the door. Step 4 Set the sandbag on the door. Make sure it is on top of the warp. Leave the sandbag on the door for at least 24 hours or until the warp is gone. Step 5 Paint one coat of varnish on the top and on the bottom of the door. Let the varnish dry. Apply a second coat. Let dry.

You cannot fix a severely warped door. When you need to do instead of fixing a warped door is adjust the door stop to fit the curve of the door. The door stop is that vertical strip of wood that runs down the center of the door casing, which serves to “stop” the door from swinging any farther. You can very carefully pry up the door stop with a thin pry bar, and re-nail to fit the warped door. Doors that are not severely warped can be bent straight by laying them across a pair of sawhorses with a sheet of cardboard on top. Then, lay two or three cinderblocks atop the cardboard. Keep checking every 2-3 days. After a few weeks, your door should be straightened out. Only works on solid wood doors. Clearly You Have Tips About Door Buying and Installation, Right?
