How Do You Fix A Slow Skateboard?
Skateboards have a tough life. They get dirty, wet and neglected but are expected to roll forever without complaint. It’s no wonder they get cranky once in a while and toss you into the gutter. If your old board feels slow, try the following. Step 1 Using an adjustable wrench, remove the nut holding each wheel in place. In the center of each wheel are the wheel bearings, one on each side. Using a screwdriver, remove both bearings from each wheel. Simply put the tip of the screwdriver into the center of the bearing and pop it free. Step 2 Using a rag, wipe off any dirt from each bearing. Drop the bearings into a cup of paint thinner. Leave them in the thinner for an hour. Remove the bearings and let them dry thoroughly. Spin each bearing to remove any paint thinner from the inside. Step 3 Place all the bearings in a cup of motor oil and leave them over-night. Remove them from the oil and wipe them dry.
