How Do You Fix A Short In A Wire Of A Dell Laptop Power Cord?
A nonfunctional power cord renders a Dell laptop computer effectively useless. However, before you start to panic, there’s a way to fix a short in the power cable of a Dell computer without the need to buy a completely new one, and you don’t need to be a tech genius in order to do it. All it takes is a few simple tools and some time and concentration. Insert the tip of your flat-head screwdriver in the seam in the middle of the adapter box. This is the black rectangular box located halfway between the plug and AC adapter on the power cord. Work your way around the adapter box with your flat-head screwdriver until the two halves become loose. Twist up at each corner with your screwdriver to pop the top half away from the bottom.
