When I pulled our new artificial Christmas tree out of the box last year – I was so disappointed. The pre-strung lights were supposed to be an upgrade, but the tree itself was so scrawny and fake looking it bothered me all season. This year I made that same tree much fuller with a few simple tricks that can work for you too. Unpack your tree and assemble the base. As you either fold down or insert the branches into the trunk, shape each branch to look more natural – some stems slightly up, some down, with tips curving up a bit at the ends to better hold ornaments. Take a step back and gauge where there are gaps — can you see the trunk in places – or through to the wall? Check with the tree lights on and off. If so, it’s time to get out a spare garland. Cut the garland into sections from 1-2 feet long. Bend the branches of the garland so half are spread one way and half the other with 2 stems in the center. Place the section of garland in a gap in the tree, right up against the trunk –
